This guideline helps journalists and editors report on abortion carefully, factually and respectfully. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In our clinic, we notice every day how important words are. How abortion is talked about in the media affects how people feel, and how safe they feel to seek help and care. Unintentionally, terms or frames can evoke shame or doubt, just at a time when someone needs peace of mind and support.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fiom&#8217;s guideline shows how it can be done differently. By using neutral language, making no assumptions about guilt or regret, and referring to abortion as what it is: medical care. We welcome this guideline because it contributes to a more open and respectful conversation about abortion.
