Saturday, February 27, 1971 is the day the first abortion treatment took place at the Mildredhuis Arnhem. This made the first abortion clinic in the Netherlands a fact. Abortion is still a fraught subject, a taboo about which little is spoken. This was already true at the time of the establishment of the abortion clinic in Arnhem, and 50 years later little has changed.
In this documentary, one of the clinic’s founders, a first-time abortion nurse and a client who had an abortion when she was 19 tell their stories.
“Gut Feeling” can be seen on Omroep Gelderland starting Tuesday, Feb. 23.
